# Scholarly Open — Author Submission Checklist & Toolkit

Before submitting your manuscript to Scholarly Open journals, please verify that your submission complies with all the following guidelines:

## 1. Originality & Ethics
- [ ] The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not currently under consideration by any other journal.
- [ ] All authors meet the 4 ICMJE criteria for authorship.
- [ ] Plagiarism screening: Text overlap complies with standard academic thresholds (<15% total overlap, <3% from a single source).
- [ ] Ethics Approval: Research involving human subjects or animals includes explicit ethics committee approval numbers and informed consent statements.

## 2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure
- [ ] Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) are NOT listed as authors.
- [ ] If AI was used for language editing, literature synthesis, or coding, an "AI & Assisted Technologies Disclosure" statement is included in the manuscript notes.

## 3. Open Data & FAIR Principles
- [ ] Raw underlying data, code scripts, and analytical workflows are deposited in a FAIR-compliant repository (e.g. Zenodo, Dryad, Figshare).
- [ ] A Data Availability Statement is included in the manuscript with a direct DOI link.

## 4. Format & Figures
- [ ] Text is double-spaced, 12pt font, with continuous line numbers.
- [ ] Figures are provided in high resolution (minimum 300 DPI for photos, 600 DPI for line drawings).
- [ ] References follow standard APA/Vancouver citation style with active DOI links.
